Department of Defence is seeking Expressions of Interest for a Head Contractor to deliver new and refurbished training facilities and working accommodation for the Hobart Class Destroyer Combat System Enhancement Capability Project at Randwick Barracks and Defence Plaza Sydney. The first stage is an Invitation to Register Interest (ITR) expected around 29 June 2026, followed by a Request for Tender (RFT) in Q3 2026 for shortlisted applicants.
This is a notice for a potential upcoming procurement for the Head Contractor package of works (Defence Head Contract HC-GMP) under project ESTS4000PH6 Facilities to Support the Hobart Class Destroyer Combat System Enhancement Capability Project (the Project).The Project will deliver new infrastructure and capital build facilities in the form of modified and expanded training facilities and working accommodation including:Construction of new and refurbished training facilities at Navy Training Systems Centre – Randwick Barracks, NSW.• Modifications to existing buildings• Modifications and improvements to existing site services infrastructure• Construction of a new two story training wing.• Civil and landscaping works• Existing training buildings will be operational throughout the projectProvision of working accommodation at Defence Plaza Sydney• Modifications to existing office fitout (one level) to accommodate additional staffing, including modifications to existing services.• Existing adjacent offices will be operational throught the projectThe Invitation to Register Interest (ITR), will be the first stage of a two-staged selection process. ITR is expected to be released on approx. 29 June 2026.The second stage of the selection process will be a Request for Tender (RFT) which will be issued to Applicants that have been successfully shortlisted through an ITR Interest process. Further details in relation to the subsequent Stage 2 RFT will be provided to the short listed Applicants which is expected to be released in Q3 2026.
