The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) requires the design, construction, supply, and delivery of a new fit for purpose small research vessel (the “Vessel”) to be delivered to AIMS Darwin, Northern Territory.The purpose of this Request for Tender (RFT) is to seek tender responses from Vessel Constructors to provide a Vessel that will enable continued support for AIMS marine operations through its small vessel fleet in the Northern Territory, which supports a wide variety of research and maintenance teams.The Vessel is intended to be used across all marine, estuarine and river systems across the Northern Territory. The Vessel will be used for launch and retrieval of scientific equipment, scientific surveys, towing, and vessel transfers to larger research and charter vessels.
